ชายผู้วางใจในแผนของตนเอง
มีชายคนหนึ่งชื่อสมชาย เขาเป็นนักธุรกิจที่ประสบความสำเร็จในสายตาของคนอื่น เขามีแผนชีวิตที่วางไว้อย่างละเอียดทุกขั้นตอน — ตอนอายุ 30 ต้องมีบ้าน อายุ 35 ต้องมีบริษัทเป็นของตัวเอง อายุ 40 ต้องเกษียณ เขาพึ่งพาสติปัญญาของตัวเองเสมอ และไม่เคยรู้สึกว่าจำเป็นต้องขอความช่วยเหลือจากใคร แม้แต่พระเจ้า
วันหนึ่ง แผนของเขาพังทลายทั้งหมด บริษัทล้ม หุ้นส่วนโกง เขาสูญเสียทุกอย่างในชั่วข้ามคืน เขานั่งในห้องว่างเปล่า มองดูฝาผนัง หัวใจหนักอึ้ง เขาไม่รู้จะไปต่ออย่างไร เพราะแผนของเขาไม่มีเหลืออีกแล้ว
คืนนั้นเพื่อนคริสเตียนเก่าโทรมาหา ไม่ได้รู้เรื่องอะไรเลย แต่รู้สึกว่าควรโทรหา พวกเขาคุยกันนาน และเพื่อนอ่านพระคัมภีร์ให้ฟัง
“จงวางใจในพระยาห์เวห์ด้วยสุดจิตใจของเจ้า อย่าพึ่งพาความเข้าใจของตนเอง จงยอมรับพระองค์ในทุกทางของเจ้า แล้วพระองค์จะทรงทำให้วิถีของเจ้าราบรื่น”

สมชายนิ่งไปนาน ถ้อยคำเหล่านั้นกระทบใจเขาอย่างลึก ตลอดชีวิตเขาวางใจในตัวเอง เขาคิดว่าสติปัญญาของเขาเพียงพอ แต่วันนี้เขาเห็นแล้วว่า แผนของมนุษย์นั้นเปราะบางเพียงใด
เขาเริ่มอธิษฐาน ครั้งแรกในรอบหลายปี ไม่ใช่อธิษฐานเพื่อขอให้ชีวิตกลับมาเหมือนเดิม แต่เขาอธิษฐานว่า “พระเจ้า ผมไม่รู้จะไปต่ออย่างไร แต่ผมวางใจในพระองค์ ขอทรงนำทางผมเถิด”
สัปดาห์ต่อมา มีโอกาสงานใหม่เปิดขึ้นมาอย่างไม่คาดฝัน ไม่ใช่ธุรกิจเดิมที่เขาถนัด แต่เป็นงานรับใช้ในชุมชนที่เขาไม่เคยนึกถึง และนั่นกลับกลายเป็นช่วงเวลาที่มีความหมายที่สุดในชีวิตของเขา เพราะเขาเดินในทางของพระเจ้า ไม่ใช่ทางของตัวเอง
🌿 บทเรียนสำหรับวันนี้
การวางใจในพระเจ้าไม่ได้หมายความว่าเราหยุดคิดหรือหยุดวางแผน แต่หมายความว่าเราถวายแผนการทั้งหมดของเราไว้ในพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ และพร้อมที่จะเดินในทางที่พระองค์ทรงเปิดให้ แม้ทางนั้นอาจไม่ใช่ทางที่เราคาดหวังไว้

The Man Who Trusted His Own Plans
There was a man named David — a successful businessman in the eyes of the world. He had mapped out his life with meticulous precision: a house by thirty, his own company by thirty-five, retirement by forty. He trusted in his own intellect above all else, never feeling the need to seek help from anyone — not even God.
Then one day, everything fell apart. His company collapsed. His business partner had deceived him. In a single night, he lost everything he had built. He sat alone in an empty room, staring at the walls, his heart heavy with a weight he had never felt before. He did not know how to move forward, because every plan he had ever made was gone.
That same night, an old Christian friend called — not knowing what had happened, simply feeling prompted to reach out. They talked for a long time, and his friend read him a passage from Scripture:
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NASB, 1971)
David fell silent for a long moment. Those words struck something deep within him. All his life he had trusted himself. He believed his intelligence was enough. But now he saw how fragile the plans of man truly are.
He began to pray — for the first time in many years. Not asking for his old life back, but simply whispering, “Lord, I don’t know the way forward. But I trust You. Please guide me.”
In the weeks that followed, an unexpected door opened — not in the business world he had known, but in service to his community. It was something he never would have chosen for himself. And yet, it became the most meaningful season of his life, because for the first time, he was walking in God’s path, not his own.
🌿 Reflection for Today
Trusting in the Lord does not mean we stop thinking or stop making plans. It means we surrender our plans into His hands, and remain willing to walk whatever path He opens — even when it is not the path we expected. Today, is there something in your life you are still trying to manage entirely on your own? Let us choose, in this moment, to trust in Him — with all our hearts. 🙏
