A Better Plan Than You Imagined

Thomas was 28 years old when the company he had poured five years of his life into suddenly shut its doors. In a single night, he lost his job, his direction, and his confidence.

He sat in a dim room, staring at the city lights beyond his window, and whispered to God, "Lord, my life's plan has fallen apart. Do You still have a plan for me?"

That night, he opened his Bible and found Jeremiah 29:11:

"For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope."
Jeremiah 29:11 (NASB, 1971)

Those words slowly lifted the weight pressing on his chest. Thomas understood that God was not promising an easy road — but He was promising that this was not the end. The One who holds every tomorrow had not forgotten him.

Three months later, Thomas found a role he never thought he was qualified for. More than that, he discovered a ministry in his church that felt like the reason God had made him all along.

Reflection for Today

When your plans collapse, remember that God's plans remain. He sees the end from the beginning — and His plan for you is always welfare, a future, and a hope. Trust Him with what you cannot see.
